Why is it important to hire a professional for my wedding day?

Professional photographers have the knowledge, experience, and equipment to capture moments in ways a cell phone can never match. Flashes, lenses, and experience, all come together to produce a beautiful gallery of images, documenting the day. Images that will make up a stunning album, in which you can look back on for years to come, and pass down for generations.

Another very important facet of professional photography is that many people feel awkward or embarrassed to step in front of the lens. It's our job to make you effortlessly comfortable and natural, so we can capture you in the most flattering way.

It's also important for your guests to be able to relax and enjoy the event without worrying about taking pictures. Hiring a professional gives them the gift to focus on you, and live in the moment.

Why hire a second photographer?

As the main photographer, I am focused on the most important events and aspects of the day, while the second photographer has the ability to take a deep dive into details.

Weddings are fast paced and often spread out between several locations. Having a second photographer enables us the time to create a beautiful flat lay design, this is the soft intro into your album where all of your beautifully curated details are highlighted, your jewelry, flowers, shoes, invitations, and more. Once those have been photographed I send my second shooter to capture the groom preparation and groomsmen portraits. When it's almost time to head to the ceremony I have my second photographer help me to capture simultaneous reactions during first looks with parents and the groom. During the ceremony they will also capture alternate angles on important moments like the ring exchange and first kiss, as well as collecting candid reactions from the audience while you say "I do".

Having another photographer also offers safety, if anything were to happen to the main photographer or their images you can feel safe knowing that a second camera has been documenting the day as well.

Photography is the most important investment of your day, once the party is over and the stilettos come off, it is only the photos you will have to look back on. Sharing online albums may seem like the new-age tech savvy way to go, but there is no online experience that can match the excitement of holding a physical album in hand and watching your grandchildren flip through the pages thirty years from now.

Professional albums are super simple to create, look amazing, and have professional quality that will stand the test of time. Just select your favourite images in your online gallery and leave the rest to me.

The album that I offer is a comprehensive 75 page, image wrapped, hard cover, large landscape 13"x11" book, printed on professional quality, Proline Pearl photo paper. You can expect to see approximately 130 of your best images and delight in the memories of your story for years and generations to come. Additional pages can be added as well and I do offer smaller books, perfect for gifting to family and friends.

Why have an engagement session?

Your engagement session is the perfect time for us to meet each other in a low-pressure environment. This gives you the opportunity to get to know me, ask questions, handle products, and best of all, to learn posing basics.

Most of my clients are not professional models, and this is a good thing, I love working with blank canvases! My favorite way to photograph couples is in a candid fashion, this means that I simply guide you into a pose or activity and let your love do the talking. This experience will also set us up for success on your wedding day. Having this practice run will help us zoom through portraits quickly so that you can get to the fun part of your wedding day, dinner and dancing! As a bonus, you will also have beautiful, current images to use on your invitations.
